Chris Genovesi
I am a Research Fellow at the Institute for Philosophical Research at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and a research associate at the Psycholinguistics and Cognition Lab at Concordia University and the Language, Action and Thought Research Group at the Institute for Logic, Cognition, Language, and Information at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).
My research focuses on theoretical and empirical interventions in border disputes at the semantics-pragmatics interface, including non-literal, figurative, and pejorative uses of language (e.g., indirect speech, metaphor, metonymy, slurs) and conceptual representation. My broader research interests include the philosophy of mind, early modern philosophy, the history of philosophy, the philosophy of Paul Ricœur, and hermeneutics.
